The Lancer, Mitsubishi’s bold take on the compact car, has been redesigned for the 2016 year. Lots of aesthetic and strategic improvements have been introduced, sure to help the Mitsubishi Lancer remain as viable an option as it’s ever been for those buyers interested in capability, practicality and affordability.
Changes for the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer include updated standard interior features. For the ES trim level, drivers can now enjoy the FUSE Hands-free Link System, providing crisp and reliable smartphone integration, as well as automatic air condition climate control.
The top trim level GT features all the toys to make for an exceptionally sporty and fun drive. There is sport-tuned suspension and larger disc brakes. The exterior gets some enhancements too with the addition of 18 inch two-tone alloy wheels, sunroof, and rear spoiler.
As a press release from Mitsubishi reminds us, the Mitsubishi Lancer has a long history of being one of the safest cars on the road. Including for the 2015 model year, the Lancer has consistently been recognized as an IIHS “Top Safety Pick.” The latest Lancer stands to continue that tradition with the inclusion of standard features like Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) safety body construction system.
